CO2-neutral packaging
19-05-2010
Green Packaging System has developed a CO2-neutral packaging for Pura Natura peppers. Factors taken into account while developing this cardboard packaging included the logistics process, user friendliness, and the environmental impact. To compensate for the CO2 emission during the production of the packaging, GPS contributes to the recovery of the primeval forests in Malaysia. Pura Natura will launch its peppers on the market under the name of Robin Food.
Sustainability
The cardboard packaging, comprising a box and a lid, is used to package sustainably produced peppers. GPS has calculated the CO2 emission produced during the production of the packaging. This emission is compensated by purchasing ‘carbon credits’ from the Trees for Travel foundation. GPS has chosen to contribute to the recovery of the primeval forests in Malaysia. Fruit-bearing trees will be planted in these forests. These fruits may be harvested by animals as well as the local population.
